Chevelle is an alternative rock band from Grayslake, IL originally comprised of three brothers (now two) with the surname Loeffler. They formed in 1994.
Because their first album (recorded by Steve Albini) was released by Christian record label Squint Entertainment, they were frequently called a Christian rock band, although Chevelle is more correctly classified as alternative metal. They have stated in many interviews that their religious beliefs have little, or no, influence on their lyrics. Chevelle is now signed to Epic Records.
Black Light Burns is an American gothic/alternative rock supergroup created by Wes Borland (formerly of Limp Bizkit, Big Dumb Face, Eat the Day). The band's lineup consists of, naturally, Borland himself, along with Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails), Josh Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv), and Josh Freese (The Vandals, A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails). Their debut album, Cruel Melody, is due to be released on June 5, 2007.
Unlike today's scads of posturing pretty boys trying to cram the Extreme back into extreme music, the guys from 2Cents (frontman/drummer extraordinaire Adam O'Rourke, bassist Jesse Fishman and guitarists Dean Woodward and Dave OΉRourke [Adam's older brother]) can play. The unhinged abandon bulging from 2Cents' Gotizm/Atlantic debut, "LOST AT SEA", isn't just a product of talent, but relentless passion and commitment. The band isn't content with merely paying homage to the sordid sounds of their youth, but doing something original with them. You can hear it in the delay-soaked spaghetti western stomp of "The Mark of My Pen." Or the technical metalcore-nodding picks of "Wired," which careen into breakneck punk chugging before the outfit ignites a triumphant chorus that's all their own.
Nick Chilcote, Jason Held, Rafe Bouchard, and Rodney Martel. Formed in the year 2004 under the name Compassion Forswarn, changed name in December of 2006 to The New Tony Bennett (TNTB). The band did an east coast tour in summer of 2006 and has released two ep's, one live and one studio. TNTB is setting out for a full US tour this summer with Angels Beneath Me from Syracuse, New York starting June 28th as a 5-piece with the addition of Travis Gokey on bass and Rodney Martel moving to guitar.
