The roads of life have brought the associates of Stolid together, but Ben, Joe, Ryan, and Josh will choose their path from here. Formed in the spring of 2006 as a collaboration between two local acoustic projects, the relationship has worked better than ever imagined and has accomplished and produced much in just over a year. With a melodic three-part-harmony chorus, or a punk fueled and shotgun drummed tune, the songs of Stolid are now being released upon the masses.
The band's independent, much anticipated, debut EP, What It's Worth, was released in February 2007. Tracked at Strangeways Recording in Burlington, VT, Ben and Joe split the duty of vocals, and belt out verses describing the trials of life and love. Citing such diverse influences as Bad Religion, Metallica, Staind, Green Day and The Ataris, the band melds in and out of genres, describing themselves most often as "Alternative Hard Rock".
The band has spent much of the year performing shows around Vermont and throughout New England. This fall the band is touring along the East Coast playing shows in many states on their way to DC and back. Higher Ground marks a return to Vermont for the four band members who have been on the road much of August. With strong hometown support and an exciting studio release behind them, Stolid looks to introduce their music to a wider and more distant new audience, spreading the music that they love to play, to fans that love to listen.
Formed in a small town in northwestern Vermont, Nowhere Found's creation is the result of an uncanny set of eerie circumstances that may never be fully explained. The band does not question fate; it accepts the good graces and focuses on its mission of writing original music that will motivate your subconscious rock glands.
Describing Nowhere Found's music is best left to the experts: the listeners. NF's fans have compared their music to Godsmack, Soundgarden and 3 Doors Down. In the burgeoning hardcore scene of Burlington, Vermont, they are a unique entity, writing music that strives to cross all borders with universal appeal.
The band recorded its first EP, entitled "Bleed Like Me," at Madcow Productions in Essex, Vermont. This professional effort is their debut introduction to the wider regional audience of New England, and has already been well received.
Nowhere Found is ready to remind you what rock is all about. Are you ready to remember?
Traces David was formed as trio by Brendan and Dan in the summer of 2005 and began as a pop punk endeavor. Jim later joined the band, bringing his classic rock and Beatles influences to the table. The music then developed into a more independent and less genre-specific sound. With his powerful drumming and solid backing vocals, Nick was the missing piece to the band and joined in mid 2006. The 3 part harmonies, catchy melodies and fresh stylings will have you dancing and singing along.
We were not born of other dying bands, nor was it the goal of one person to seek out others to complete a project. Our sound came of each member's desire to find and create something new. Like sifting through sand to find scrap gold, each member had been searching for what seemed to be missing when we started to stumble into each other. Long days and nights of sharing approaches eventually gave way to the gradual build of a style that completely relied on the unique feel of each person. Everyone had something to give, and in return, a lot to learn. Emerging with a sound as eccentrically beautiful as it is honest and raw, we are proud to present, Valkyrie.
The Apollo Program may have been a hoax, but Maneuvers is not. Hailing from Burlington, Vermont, friends Paul Comegno and Jeff Foran began collaborating musically in late 2005. After many long nights of writing spazzy and intricate rock songs, the duo formed Maneuvers in March of 2006. Due to many lineup changes over the course of 2006 to group was forced to put playing shows on hold until they found the right people for the band. The pair teamed up with former Punch Out drummer, Urian Hackney to round out their rhtyhm section. Influenced by bands like At The Drive-In, Fugazi, Bear vs Shark, Jawbox, and Drive Like Jehu, and Led Zeppelin, Maneuvers is ready to give loud and awe inspiring performances to audiences everywhere.
