"Barefoot Truth is one of the more promising young roots rock bands on the independent circuit these days"
--ThisIsModern.net
Young and roots rock are the three defining words for Barefoot Truth. Their heartfelt, melodic songs are performed with a wide array of instruments including upright bass, lap steel guitar, congas, didgeridoo and lead harmonica.
Despite using classic folk instruments, Barefoot Truth is clearly a band of the 21st century. With each member still only 22 years old, Barefoot Truth is product of the download age and advocate spreading music through any medium possible, including file sharing. In December 2007 BFT will be launching www.freebft.com, a website dedicated to free downloads of their shows and studio albums.
As multi-instrumentalist Jay Driscoll puts it, "In this digital age, there is no reason not to provide easy and free access to our music. If people like it enough, we know they will come support us at our shows."

Having toured successfully the past two years as an acoustic mandolin/guitar duo, Matt and John Beninghof performed at schools, festivals and mainstay venues across the country. Along the way they’ve gained an enthusiastic fan base of all ages and shared the stage with the likes of Leon Russell, Soulive, The Slip, Gordon Stone, Sara Bareilles, Hot Buttered Rum, State Radio, Naughty by Nature and the Roots. This summer the brothers had the good fortune of performing with Charles Walton at their weekly gigs in Woods Hole MA. It became apparent after only a few shows that a.) drums equal more women on the dance floor b.) Charles is a NASTY drummer !! c.) the women on the dance floor love Charles. And with that simple conclusion, a new formation of The Old Silver Band was born !! Charles brings a new level of energy, rhythm and hair care to the brother’s already eclectic style of music and antics.
