Parliament Funkadelic revolutionized R&B during the '70s, twisting soul music into funk by adding influences from several late-'60s acid heroes. The collective's live performance continues to masterfully blend elements of '60s psychedelia and blues with the deep groove of soul and funk. Led by funk pioneer George Clinton--a.k.a. "The Prime Minister of Funk"--the group has incorporated social/political commentary into their unique funky sound for over thirty years.
