With infectious tunes, a jaw-dropping stage show and equal doses of hits and hugs, Sick Puppies are striking a blow against the horde of faceless modern rock bands that are virtually all the same. Citing Rage Against the Machine, Green Day, and Silverchair as influences, Sick Puppies have created their own aggressive sound composed of aching vocals, melancholy acoustics and triumphant guitar licks.
Armed with a new record, Janus brings a fresh new sound to the genre of metal. Inspired by forging their own voice and among a sea of sound-a-likes, Janus has carved ten flawlessly flowing tracks into their new album: Red Right Return. Released on September 22 2009, the new album owns a broad range of dynamics and instruments not often used in the metal genre to produce a sound of melodic, ethereal backdrops grounded in aggressive, heavy rhythms. "Red Right Return" symbolizes the process of getting back to basics and not focusing on trends or anything in the industry, but on the music itself. Lyrically the record reflects the human condition from both an inward and outward point of view leaving the listener to draw their own reflections.
"...charging the stage later in the evening are rock squires Crash Kings... with an earth-shaking assault of sound, the brothers Beliveau and Jason Morris of Crash Kings make their move on the urban indie scene, wielding keyboards, a bass, and a drum kit in battle."

Violent Soho began about a half a decade ago as a means of playing music together for four boys, then in their teens, who wanted to be able to embrace an 80’s and 90’s punk–grunge impact to their music without disregarding the ethic that ideally follows from such influence. The band has since then gone on its way to creating an energetic live show. From its beginnings, playing shows at outer-suburban pubs and rehearsing and recording demos in their parents' garages; the band has grown not by striving to achieve musical extravagance or stability, but by being a real band, by keeping its own principle and belief and sense of mateship within itself.
Violent Soho has also toured extensively across the globe as well as played shows with such bands as Dinosaur Jr, Built to Spill, ...Trail of Dead, The Black Keys, The Bronx, Black Francis, The Dead Weather, The Grates, Grinspoon, Cosmic Psychos, Celibate Rifles, Hard-Ons and many countless others. They've also played many major festivals around Australia including Homebake, Meredith, Falls Festival, Laneway Festival and featured on this year's line-up for Download festival in the UK.
