Innerpartysystem have a distinctive vision, as their songs incorporate throbbing electronic beats that nod towards Autechre, Chemical Brothers and Squarepusher but also the melodic and aggressive energy that’s not far from that you’d find in Nine Inch Nails, Ministry or even The Killers.
Despite being hailed as a 'supergroup' sounding like 'The Who on steroids with an Afro-Latin twist' (The Boston Phoenix), Township took the stage at the 2007 29th Annual WBCN Rock n' Roll Rumble as virtually unknown. After sweeping the competition in all 3 rounds, the secret soon revealed itself that the band contained Vermont native and Cancer Conspiracy drummer, Greg Beadle and Boston's Runner and the Thermodynamics frontman, Marc Pinansky and Spitzz's John Sheeran. In just a year and a half, Township has been featured in internationally released commercials and videos, and shared stages with acts ranging from Incubus and Perry Ferrel, to the Fiery Furnaces and Richard Lloyd of Television. With two EP's under their belt and a full length arriving soon, these classic rock worshiping guys don't just live the music, they are the music.
Build A Machine is a hard-hitting funk rock trio based out of Boston, MA. In late 2006, they packed up the van and headed west to Los Angeles, CA to make the dream a reality. They rented a house in The Salton Sea Desert (remember the movie with Val Kilmer of the same name, or Into the Wild) to write and demo their debut EP. Shortly after the writing was complete, the band headed to Laurel Canyon in the Hollywood Hills to record it with legendary producer Dave Aron (Sublime, Snoop Dogg, U2) While in the recording studio, they gained the attention of Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction, Porno for Pyros) who came by and added percussion to one of there songs. After recording wrapped, the boys headed out on a North American tour which took them to the world-famous Viper Room on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, Long Beach, San Diego, Utah, New York, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Boston.
