The Point and Magic Hat Brewing present the 10th annual Advance Music Acoustic Singer/Songwriter Contest. Drawing seasoned musicians, as well as those who have never performed in public, the contest always proves to be an eclectic and diverse event, showcasing many musical and lyrical styles, textures, and tastes. Stop in to Advance Music in Burlington or call 863-8652, to sign up for one of the two semi finals by October 20th. If you're not a musician, head to Halverson's Upstreet Cafe on Tuesday October 21st or Metronome on Tuesday October 28th and cheer for your favorite performer, while enjoying some great music, libations, and atmosphere. The top three from each of these semi finals will compete at Higher Ground on Monday November 3rd for a winner takes all prize package, including a beautiful Taylor guitar and 6 hours of recording time at EMP studio.
