DSO is a different breed of Dead band. What Dark Star Orchestra does is recreate the Grateful Dead through live music. DSO plays the setlist song for song in the same arrangements used by the Dead members of that period. Dark Star Orchestra takes the framework of the original setlists and sees where it can take them. Even the press has caught on to what the band is doing--USA Today says DSO is "channeling the Dead" and the Washington Post declared them "the hottest Grateful Dead tribute act going".

The 2010 Lake Champlain Maritime Festival will be held August 13 -15 featuring boats, exhibits, demonstrations, competitions, food, vendors and entertainment for everyone. The festival will be comprised of many organizations and sites along Burlington’s downtown waterfront including, Perkins Pier, King Street Ferry Dock, ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, Burlington Community Boathouse, Waterfront Park, The US Coast Guard, The Community Sailing Center, The Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, Lake Champlain Transportation, The Lake Champlain Antique Boat Show, & Dragonheart Vermont.
