Primus’ unusual approach to music and the diversity of their sound has made them difficult to define. Bass player and lead singer Les Claypool has called his band psychedelic polka. Original members Les Claypool and Larry “Ler” Lalonde have been producing records and performing live together since the late eighties. This year, Primus welcomes back to the stage one of their original drummers Jay Lane, who has not played with the band since 1989.

GOGOL BORDELLO
http://www.gogolbordello.com/

Gogol Bordello has been breaking down musical barriers since 1999 with a supercharged music based on a brutal gypsy two step rhythm that sounds like an Eastern European cousin of ska, augmented by punk, metal, rap, flamenco, roots reggae, Italian spaghetti, Western twang, dub and other sounds generated by gypsies and rebels from across the globe. Gogol Bordello’s philosophy is simple and pragmatic. Music makes it possible to make the contradictions of life sound harmonious, at least for the duration of a song. Their trans-global rebel rock is based on the belief that music and art can transform negative energy to positive and inspire individual action.

Heloise & the Savoir Faire
http://www.heloisemusic.com/

“A bottle blonde with a fondness for spandex and all that glitters, Williams was leading her band, Heloise & the Savoir Faire, in a nasty bit of '70s disco rock. She laid out her mission fast and furious: "Trash, rats, and microphones/ That's where I'm at/ Why don't you leave me alone?"
--The Boston Globe

“Front woman Heloise has Cyndi Lauper’s tone, Debbie Harry’s range, and many cheesy come-ons—what’s not to love? As synths bubble through the disc’s randy electro-pop songs, you won’t know whether to pogo or grind, but dance you will.”
--Marie Claire
