Yarn
Brooklyn-based Americana/Alt-Country band Yarn’s sound owes as much to Gram Parsons and Earl Scruggs as to Jerry Garcia and Exile On Main Street-era Rolling Stones. Much like its name, the band Yarn weaves country, rock, blues and more into a genre-defying blend that has captured the attention of fans and critics alike. Following in a fine tradition that includes forward thinking roots bands like The Flying Burrito Brothers and New Riders of The Purple Sage. Yarn weaves roots music idioms into a fresh sound that turns on hipsters and fans of country music alike, with technically impressive song-crafting and universal tales from the road of life.
The Wee Folkestra
The Wee Folkestra is a nine-piece, Burlington, Vermont based, musical collective that has gained notoriety for its rich and unique arrangements of classics, as well as original material. Expect sweet four-part harmonies (five if you count Johnnie Day’s musical saw), melodica, upright bass, guitars, mandolin & drums on any given night.

In the group's first year, they opened for Marco Benevento twice, played the Liberate music festival, performed at Higher Ground on their Main Stage and in their Showcase Lounge, debuted at Nectars to a full house, opened for the secret Gogol Bordello set at Occupy Burlington for 500 people in City Hall Park, and had Ween’s Dave Dreiwitz sit in for sultry lounge version of “Baby Bitch.”

The Wee Folkestra play covers like their own, and after a live video was posted of the Wee performing Josh Ritter’s “Roll On,” Ritter took notice and re-tweeted the YouTube link to his followers. Speaking of covers, Benevento recently invited the band up on stage for a version of Leonard Cohen’s “Seems So Long Ago, Nancy.”

Wee know one thing: the buzz around what Seven Days calls Burlington’s “all-star indie-folk collective” is about to get a lot louder.

The band is comprised of Aya Inoue (vocals/guitar/bass), Samara Lark (vocals/tambourine), Greg Alexander (vocals/accordion), Joe Adler (vocals/guitar), Matt Harpster (lead guitar), Eric Daniels (upright & electric bass/guitar/mandolin), Eric Segalstad (mandolin, banjo), Johnnie Day Durand (musical saw/melodica/piano), and Matt DeLuca (drums).
