Marigold Holiday Express: Performing George Harrison's 'Concert for Bangladesh'
Marigold Holiday Express: Performing George Harrison's 'Concert for Bangladesh'
In 1971, George Harrison orchestrated his now legendary performance at Madison Square Garden, “The Concert For Bangladesh.” Organized in the spirit of humanity and charity, this performance forever popularized the concept of “the benefit concert” in our collective consciousness.

In the same spirit of good will and generosity, coupled with an insatiable appetite for holiday partying, Bob Wagner has partnered with Citizen Cider, Lost Nation Brewery, Hen of the Wood and Higher Ground to present “The Marigold Holiday Express.” Wagner will lead a spectacular 16 piece line up of Vermont’s finest musicians, recreating and reinterpreting the music from George Harrison’s epic concert.

The lineup will feature:
Kat Wright & The Indomitable Soul Band
Dwight & Nicole
The DuPont Brothers
Seth Yacovone
Lowell Thompson
Tyler Mast
Caleb Bronze
Hillary McCabe
and special guests!

In honor of Ravi Shankar’s crucial participation during the original concert, Vermont based Indian Classical group Bada Raga will perform a very special set of music to open the evening.

Money raised through ticket sales from this show will go directly to Maher, an Indian organization with ties to Vermont that does profoundly important work to bring safety, agency and opportunity to oppressed and vulnerable populations in three Indian States. (www.MaherAshram.org; www.USMaherFriends.org)

Maher runs 37 centers, including safe-homes for women, homes for children, and homes for disabled adults. Maher also has grassroots community outreach programs focused on women’s rights, education and sustainable financial growth. Maher is interfaith, caste-free and staffed by locals.

Handmade products from Maher will be available for sale at the show! They’ll make excellent holiday gifts for your friends and family and their sales go directly to the Maher.
