Alpenglow
Alpenglow
Alpenglow is a band intensely influenced by its surroundings. They made their 2014 EP, Chapel, while living in a ramshackle house in a Vermont mountain town, population 588, once home to Robert Frost. The album, which has a reverent and spacious sound, was produced by Jesse Lauter (The Low Anthem, Elvis Perkins, Langhorne Slim) and was recorded in a stone chapel down the road. The release of Chapel led Alpenglow to tours opening for Lucius, Timber Timbre, and their spiritual guru, Jim James of My Morning Jacket. After moving to Brooklyn, Alpenglow’s music gained an urgency and intensity that wasn’t there before. Practicing next to metal bands made Alpenglow play louder. Their focus shifted to beats, grooves, tones, and colors. They started using synthesizers and bought a drum machine. The result was a new sound inspired by the people, shows, styles, and art of the city. They took this new sound into the studio with musician and producer Sam Cohen (Danger Mouse, Apollo Sunshine) to record their first full-length record. They named it Callisto, inspired by Cohen’s daughter, Jupiter, who was born while they were working on the album. The album will be released on Chizu Records on February 26th, 2016.
Wren Kitz
"Across a field there is a body. The head is covered with a paper bag. You call out to it. The body sways.

The Music of Wren Kitz is contained in a capsule. Its intention to trigger the dream vein uncovers layers of nostalgia and visuals. Combining his song writing with samplings from his large found sound cassette library, Wren gives us a look into his melancholic and intriguing world of song.

The newest solo effort - 'For Evelyn' - was recorded between Burlington, VT and Montreal, QC in the summer time. Partially recorded by Wren to cassette in the back shed in VT and partially recorded at Pietro Chango Studio with The Luyas in Montreal. The collection of songs covers a vast terrain but flows fragile through the dream vein like a long lost letter to a friend…"

Expect it Summer 2015 via Section Sign Records....stay tuned.
Apartment 3
Apartment 3 is a band that formed when chance brought a group of like-minded songwriters to the same apartment building. With fuzzed-out guitars, airy vocal harmonies, thumping bass and roaring drums, the four members create a brand of garage rock that's head-bang worthy, yet whimsical. They write songs about working just to get by, fueled from the weekend's blurry promises. The music started in apt. #3 and it continues to be the band's sanctuary where sound pours out the windows, into the living rooms of defenseless neighbors.
