Strangefolk, one of the great New England jambands of the 1990s and early 2000s, at its core, was a community, and their music – storied characters woven into sing-along songs and infectious three-part harmonies interpreted in a new way each night – had become the soundtrack of some people’s lives. Jon Trafton and Erik Glockler, two of the founding members still clearly enjoy each other’s company and foster a deep musical rapport such that when they get on stage together it’s more than just a show, it’s an event.

Russ Lawton has toured and recorded with the Trey Anastasio Band since the very first gig back in 1998. He’s credited with co-writing the Grammy-nominated song “First Tube” which appeared on Phish’s 2000 album, Farmhouse. Being a staple of the Vermont music scene for years, Lawton has collaborated with a vast array of VT acts, and toured with Strangefolk from 2004-2012.

The years that Lawton shared with Strangefolk are special ones both to the fans & the musicians. G.L.T. will take the unique groove-pocket energy of Lawton, combine it with the Strangefolk songbook and concentrate it down into the tightest of power rock triads you could ever hope for.
